About Us

The Sewing Room and Workshop is excited to be doing business in Stockton and the surrounding areas! For over 31 years, Michelle has been honing the skills needed to bring you quality custom upholstery services ranging from general home furnishings to historic furniture collections of museums throughout the Midwest. Beginning her training in the family business at Meadowdale Upholstery in Carpentersville, Illinois, Michelle learned the trade from seasoned craftsmen and applied those skills for 20 years before expanding into the field of furniture conservation for another 10 years.

Newly established in March 2021, The Sewing Room and Workshop is offering more! Not only is custom upholstery available, but with Michelle’s love of quilting and fabric in general, fine quilting fabrics are available for your quilting projects! With modest beginnings, you will find the complete collection, 365 colors of Kona quilting cottons and several seasonal prints by Robert Kauffman Fabrics. More collections are coming soon along with notions, threads and patterns so you can create your fabric masterpiece.
